As 2016 draws to a close, today's #TBT is dedicated to the year's @elleuk cover stars. In a year that’s seen the likes of Amy Adams, Lily James, Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, Kylie Jenner appear on the cover, it’s safe to say it’s been one hell of a stellar year for @elleuk magazine. As always, it has been an absolute pleasure creating your fashion magazine; pages dedicated to the latest names, trends and movements in fashion, activism, feminism, human rights, health and beauty, pages that have seen us work into the night from ELLE HQ editing copy, changing layouts, styling shoots and finding ourselves that bit too much obsessed with Instagram Stories. 2016 has been a chance for us to focus on a subject close to our heart – diversity. Such championing of this issue saw the team create the September Issue, which saw not one but five cover stars grace its pages and made us the first British magazine to feature a transgender star (Hari Nef) on its cover. And of course, how could we not mention our departing Editor-in-chief, Lorraine Candy (@sundaytimeslorraine)? For 12 years, Lorraine has been at the helm of @elleuk magazine, guiding us through several award-winning issues, the #MoreWomen campaign, the UK’s first ever mainstream glossy feminism issue and more gruelling #ELLEFit workout sessions than we’d like to remember. As she embarks on an exciting adventure next year, #teamELLE wishes her the best of luck from the future. With the new year just around the corner, we promise to continue making a magazine that celebrates the contrarians, the undiscovered stars in popular culture and the innovators of the future, and we will continue to push the norms in fashion, beauty and beyond, with Acting Editor-in-chief, Lotte Jeffs (@lottejeffs), at the helm.
