George Michael is from Cyprus. Cyprus. When I was a kid I loved George Michael so much. I don't remember the day I first heard his music. But I remember the day when someone said you know he is a Cypriot just like you. They said George Michael, this world famous amazing pop star, was from the same tiny island I was from and had somehow made a global impact. In that moment all of a sudden all of my wildest dreams were possible. About a month ago, Careless Whisper came on the car radio when I was driving across town with a friend and they were like, who's this again? And I made them pull over and I went on my whole George Michael is a Cypriot history rant and then had them listen to the Faith album so they could fully appreciate all the George Michaelness.
