The theme of our very special September issue was "For Girls, By Girls," where we celebrated empowerment specifically through the female gaze. This was the first time in Teen Vogue's 13-year history that only female photographers were commissioned to shoot the pictures in our magazine, so our cover had to be the perfect example of our mission.
