That's the Mensch on the Bench and the Hanukkah Helper watching over our Christmas stockings. Last week, Mazzy found the Mensch in the Bench in my closet. I thought the whole jig was up and she would be like, "Mom! You've been keeping him in your closet the whole time!" But instead she was like, "Mom! Look who I found?!!!! I guess he came back because it's almost Hanukkah!!!" Then this morning she noticed that some of Santa's presents used the same wrapping as mine. I thought fast. "Oh, I left some wrapping paper for Santa in case he needed it." "Oh, that makes sense," she said. She's a believer in the holiday magic. Big time.
