Today would’ve been Frank Zappa’s birthday. Here, the rock legend is photographed on the toilet in August 1967. Taken in London, the image, nicknamed Zappa Crappa, has become an iconic and best-selling poster. “Every boundary that was possible on the guitar was examined by him in ways that other people didn’t,” Phish’s Trey Anastasio said in 2005 of Zappa, one of our 100 greatest artists of all time.
