A school district in China’s Henan Province has been “publicly criticized” by the local education bureau, after hundreds of school pupils were made to take exams outdoor in heavy smog, Chinese state broadcaster CCTV reports. The Linqi County No.1 High School, which is supervised by the Linqi central school district, organized “hundreds of grade eight students (approx. age 14) to take exams on the playground” on Monday, despite the bureau of education issuing a notice to suspend school activities, CCTV says. Feng Jisheng, the headmaster of the high school, was asked by the school board to suspend his duties. (? by Chinese state newspaper, the People’s Daily)
