I have been struggling with how to express the feelings of terror and hopelessness I feel when I think or talk about Aleppo. But I've spent far too much time thinking and worrying and not enough time doing anything. I regret not getting more involved and paying closer attention to this unspeakable tragedy and while I know so many atrocities have already transpired, I wanted to share some links to help or give back to the relief efforts happening across the globe. Glennon Doyle Melton, Elizabeth Gilbert, Cheryl Strayed, Brene Brown, Rob Bell, Marie Forleo (along with others) organized a project through The Compassion Collective to fund-raise for four specific goals: to purchase and fully equip two ambulances with medicine and medical supplies for 6 months, and enable The White Helmets (pictured here) to rescue children and vulnerable people trapped in the rubble; to equip a mobile hospital which is arriving in Aleppo on Christmas Day — with medicine and supplies for serving the injured, to help Independent Doctor’s Association fund the planning of the first pediatric hospital in the region; and to continue to fund the work of the Help Refugees volunteer network devoted to delivering people to safety. I've donated to their cause today (you can donate in my profile link above, too) and wanted to share a few more ways to help if you'd like to get involved: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/aleppo-conflict-syria-war-latest-five-things-you-can-do-to-help-a7472681.html (Demonstrations, call your reps, donate to NGOs, support the global refugee effort) http://time.com/4602080/support-aleppo-victims/ (White Helmets, IRC, Hand in Hand for Syria, International Committee of the Red Cross, Save the Children) #aleppo
