As you all know I started acting when I was seven years old, and started bouncing in NYC when I was 17 to pay the bills. Failed the first time I came to Hollywood at 23 and then went back to NY to learn how to be a filmmaker because no one was giving me an opportunity to "make it"... I directed a short film called MultiFacial about a struggling multicultural actor trying to work in New York... I then came back to LA with my short film at 27 yrs old. At that time I would drive around with VHS copies of my short film in the trunk just in case I bumped into someone who could help me with my dreams. One day I was driving by the Four Seasons hotel when I saw one of my favorite actors walking into the hotel. Morgan Freeman... he was seriously one of my acting role models, I mean I remembered him from a show called Electric Company and always followed his career. This was my BIG chance, maybe I could after 20 years finally get noticed. So I pulled over, popped the trunk and ran after him to give him my short film...
Sunday night, twenty something years later, he stopped me, and began telling me the whole story of that day in front of the Four Seasons. Wow. It was so surreal! That is the moment that is captured in the picture of my previous post.
