“It was a different kind of acting than I’ve ever done. You try and find a way a character talks, but we don’t really get the opportunity to figure out how a character would sing.
I was so nervous because I had to go in for some of the rehearsals for it, and everyone’s just sitting there, watching me.
They said “go sing”. “Oh, okay…” [she stands up and starts singing sheepishly] “I walk through...” I was playing with my clothes [as I sang]. I thought “this is so embarrassing”. But we found it.
