It feels like too many times, as of late, that I've had to say goodbye to someone who has played a critical role in my life and personal development, both as a man, and as a fighter. Today, I'm deeply saddened to have to add my amateur coach Adrian Teodorescu to this list.

Adrian was my Canadian amateur coach who mentored, advised and coached me to an Olympic gold medal as an amateur. Adrian helped me overcome the mental aspects of boxing that can hold many fighters back.

When I told him that his workouts were going to kill me, he would assure me that there is no way this could happen because I would have to pass out first before I died.

Adrian has given the country of Canada and the sport of boxing everything he had to give and it's now up to those of us he leaves behind to carry on his legacy!

I would like to extend my deepest sympathies and prayers to Adrian's wife Gina, his son Armand, and the entire Teodorescu family, during this difficult time. I would also like to send prayers and strength to the extended family at the Atlas Gym.

Lastly, I would like to personally request some time and distance to process this loss myself.
