My friend and former teammate @tom_veelers announced today that he will retire from professional cycling because of a knee injury.

I started my career with Tom in 2011 and from that point on till 2015 we formed one close team & won the most important & prestigious races together. He is without doubt one of the best lead out men in the world. His professional attitude, guidance and loyalty played an important role for me in my career and I'm very thankful for everything that he did for me.
After all we can share great memories winning in all Grand Tours, enjoying yellow jerseys in the Tour de France, winning on the Champs Elysee and all over the world in other races together.
