The official Christmas tree tradition at @rockcenternyc began in 1933 during the Depression-era construction of the Plaza. Workers decorated the tree with tin cans, paper garlands and strings of cranberries. The tree has grown over the years and this year over 800,000 people are expected to see it. This year's tree is a 95-year-old, 94-foot-tall, 14-ton Norway Spruce from Oneonta, New York. It's been a part of the Eichler family for the last 12 years, serving as second base for their family games. The lighting tradition officially kicks off Holiday Season in the city. ? @hotelbelleclaire
