I’m VERY excited about this! Okay - this will be lengthy, so bear with me. In October, I went to Kenya and Rwanda with @RED and I brought some of my friends with @nowthisnews along with me. I have been focused on the fight against HIV/AIDS in subsaharan Africa for a while, now. I studied it in college and I lived in Ghana working at an NGO to promote awareness and reduce stigmatization. I know I typically bug you guys about Education, but I want to share this passion with you, too. I wanted to give you guys the chance to experience both countries with me — to see where we are in the fight, the great work (RED) promotes, and what we still need to do. This cause has a potential end-date, and that’s what’s so exciting and frustrating about it. Our goal is to have no babies born HIV-positive after 2020. And by 2040, we would like to add HIV/AIDS to the annals of History and end its grasp on our present. For the next few days, I’ll be posting videos on my Facebook about my trip and the major methods of eradicating AIDS that I took away from the trip.
