At last night's Gotham Independent Film Awards, @ジャネル・モネイ​ took home the prize for best use of color on both her eyes and lips (kidding, but there really should be such an award). For most of us, just wearing fuchsia lipstick would feel like a bold color statement, but Monáe​ took it one notch further by tracing her entire bottom lashline in an icy metallic blue liner. The trick when playing with bright colors is to make sure they're in the same color family—or at the very least, distant color cousins.
