I recently had the amazing opportunity to go #freediving with sharks alongside of @OceanicRamsey in #NorthShore, Oahu #Hawaii. It’s been a dream of mine for a long time now to swim alongside of sharks in their natural habitat, and it’s crazy how much I learned about sharks and all the positive qualities they possess! At one point I was surrounded by 28 Galapagos & Sandbar Sharks but never once felt afraid or intimidated. To me these creatures seem no more threatening than a dog or cat, but hollywood has immensely over-dramatized the far-fetched behavior of these intelligent, peaceful fish. Three sharks are killed every second by humans for things such as their teeth or shark fin soup. It’s our job as humans to be the voice for the voiceless, to stand up on our feet for the creatures with fins, and to inform others on the positive impact sharks have on our whole ocean’s ecosystem, because without them, our oceans would never be the same. We need to protect all shark species and create an awareness through positive interactions with these beautiful creatures, whom without our oceans would be decimated. The work that the @oneoceandiving team is doing is pushing boundaries on how humans perceive sharks. #HelpSaveSharks
