Brighton 1-1 Villa - HT: It’s all-square at the break here on the South Coast. Glenn Murray’s leveller on the stroke of half-time cancelled out Nathan Baker’s opener. The Seagulls edged the early stages, looking comfortable in possession, without creating clear opportunities. Villa took the lead with their first real attempt 20 minutes in – Baker doing brilliant to rise highest and head home Albert Adomah’s free-kick. Brighton looked to respond but were stifled and well thwarted by Steve Bruce’s organised outfit, who looked a threat on the counter-attack. Adomah, who was always dangerous from dead balls, went close moments before the break but edged an effort wide of goal.
