Had to take a moment to show some appreciation for "One Night in Miami" by Kemp Powers at the Donmar. This is a really important play... set on 22nd February 1964 after, the then, Cassius Clay has just become heavyweight champion of the world and celebrates with his 3 friends, Malcom X, singer Sam Cooke and football star Jim Brown, in a hotel room. With the civil rights movement in motion these young men discuss the issues of racism, their own experiences with it and their often differing opinions of how change can happen. With incredible performances this talented group of actors showed the audience how far society has come in regards to race but also how far we have left to go... and made it a lot of fun while doing so.
