Over a decade ago, we teamed up with Guatemala Finca El Injerto, run by the Aguirre family. Coffee from this farm wins not only the hearts and cups of us at Stumptown, but it also takes home Guatemalan Cup of Excellence awards (think coffee Oscars) year after year. El Injerto sets a gold standard in its commitment to employee well-being, paying their workers twice the local rate, providing health clinics and child care facilities for employees, and recently building employee housing with cleaner burning gas stoves.
