Avi Cohen was born on this day in 1956. Cohen played the bulk of his career with Maccabi Tel Aviv although the defender did experience some success in the United Kingdom, winning the European Cup with Liverpool and a League Cup with Rangers in Scotland six seasons later. Tragically Cohen, who made 51 international appearances for Israel, was killed in a motorcycle crash aged just 54.
