I had an amazing meeting of these minds tonight! A lot of us are in the same boat, anxious and confused about how to be useful right now. It feels so helpful for me personally to be around people, otherwise I am just forcing my dog to spoon me and listening to the smiths. Human connection is vital; talking, sharing different experiences, learning how to educate each other and trying to figure this out together. We will fight for our civil rights and we can do it in numbers. We had discussions about race, the environment, lgbt rights, dapl, sexism. Trying to figure out the reality. There are lists of organisations that need help right now, (I will post a list, some have been circling you may have seen) There are also elected officials that we should be in touch with and have a relationship with. That's something I think our generation has lost touch with. My mother was on the phone what felt like every week with our local MP Gareth Thomas in harrow. I actually did work experience with him in parliament when I was 16 because of that. I have lost touch with that. We need to be on the phone with our local elected officials so much so that if you had kids your kids would never forget their name. I found out about some incredible existing programmes and organisations and I also talked new ideas, events and educational experiments, how we use social media and the media to elevate POC and the LGBT community and women and how to reach others outside of our bubble. Churches, rural communities, friends/cousins/someone you follow on Instagram in a town that doesn't have the cultural and social comfort of LA/LDN. Reaching out to those people and figuring out how we extend a hand to these communities and make an actual difference. I will update on this. I felt the support of meeting with a large group who also give a fuck. Thank you for coming over and now I can go spoon my dog and listen to the smiths. More tomorrow. So much to do ❣️❤️??️‍??✊?????‍♀️????‍♀️?????? my dog just farted as I finished this post. ? not pictured but also in attendance @sunitamani @kidd.bell @margritpolak @gothictropic @annabulbrook I tagged Max cap!! @jaimelyn
