@tomjauncey sharing some smartphone editing tips and tricks from this week's @beautifuldestinations #London trip: "I'm getting asked a lot about the equipment I use for photography. I'm a Canon guy and switch between the 5DSR & 1DX Mark ii but recently I've been pushing the iPhone 7+ to its full capabilities and been extremely impressed ??. Take yesterday for example, @jeremyjauncey & I ventured to 10 Downing Street (the house of The British Prime Minster) we weren't allowed to bring cameras so had to rely on our phones ?. I had the 6 before upgrading to the new 7+ and the difference is night and day! That being said it's all about the edit. Post processing can take your image to another level. Check out BD's @instagram Story today as I've just posted the original version of this shot. First I used VSCO to find a filter I liked that complimented the amazing morning light. In this case I used Filter KK2 (I paid $30 for all the filters). I then used the in app editing to change sharpening, clarity, highlights, tint etc. I then cropped the photo to Portrait 4:5, which typically performs better as it's a bigger picture on #Instagram. From there I took the photo into the app Snapseed where I selectively brought out the Reds of the London phone booth and double decker bus ? . Snapseed's "selective" tool is awesome! I then took the photo into the app ReTouch where you can remove objects or mask backgrounds. I used the Clone Stamp tool to remove an ugly traffic sign that was covering up some of Westminster Abbey. Lastly I used an app called SuperImpose to mask in the birds from a previous photo before making the final tweaks in the #Instagram app. All of this was done on my phone as we sat on the runway from Heathrow to JFK ✈️. I hope that's useful and have a play around as we'd love to see what you guys come up with ??" #BDTeam ?: @tomjauncey
