Best friends ??? | I think at times, Mika thinks that Nate is her son ❤️ | BUT, so many of you have asked me about our second dog, Pete (a mini schnauzer) and how he was doing with Nate. For those of you who've been following along, before he was born, I expressed concern about how Pete would react to a brand new baby. He's displayed REAL aggression before, especially with children, so it was a real fear that kept us up at night. He's also bitten before, so we knew what he was capable of. We took him to training, tried to work with him and just prayed that as soon as he realized that Nate was part of our family, it would be different. That's what everyone would tell us "he'll know that he's one of you guys!" In a heartbreaking turn of events, it wasn't. As soon as we tried to make the introduction, Pete aggressively went to bite him. It was then that I knew I couldn't put our child in danger. He's currently living with my dad (his second home, even prior to this) and we see him quite often. He seems to be warming up to Nate with each visit, but quite honestly, I don't know if I could ever trust him with a crawling/active baby. It took me this long to even write about it because it was devastating.
