My past three days in emojis. I laughed, I cried, I loved, I freaked out. Despite all this sadness and anger, I still love America. This is my country and I will never forsake it. I won't talk about leaving or abandoning, but how I can stay and work to make it better. Many people who voted for Trump have been so marginalized and ignored that the media didn't even realize they were there. Now is the time to try to reach out and understand each other. Everyone deserves a voice, and we have been speaking for the last eight years. Somebody else gets to speak now, it's their turn. My wonderful boyfriend said something lovely yesterday morning when I was crying: "The only way to consensus is through empathy and understanding." A very poignant phrase indeed. This is not to say that we should stop fighting. We need to organize now to prepare for the battles that will come our way in the next four years. But please, strive to be inclusive in your organization. You yourself become deplorable when you refuse to see the needs and fears of others that are not like you. You are becoming what you are rallying against. Stick together and let's show the world what America is REALLY about. Unity. Inclusivity. Dare I say, love?#imstillwithher but I'm also with #america
