Some voters are going from the polls to the cemetery in upstate New York to pay respects to women's #suffrage leader Susan B. Anthony. With Democrat #HillaryClinton poised to potentially become the first female president in the history of the United States, there has been a surge of interest in the feminist icon.
.
Enthusiastic citizens have been attaching #IVoted stickers to her gravestone in tribute to her historic effort to win the right to vote for women, a movement which was ultimately successful in 1920. Anthony died in 1906 having never had the chance to realize her dream of American women participating equally in democracy.
.
The #Rochester cemetery where the #suffragette is buried extended its hours on #ElectionDay to give people more time to visit her grave.
