Over the past year, I've watched a new chapter of my life unfold, slowly, in front of me. While 2016 started with devastating news (my Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis), it is coming to a close with the most wonderful professional moment of my life: the release of #inthecompanyofwomen . This book was an absolute dream, and one that I never thought I'd able to see through. But seeing it go from an idea, to an approved contract to a whirlwind summer photo/interview series and ultimately to a warmly received real-life book that people now have in their homes is the most wonderful feeling in the world.

Last week I got the update from my publisher that the book made the New York Times Best Seller List, Amazon Best Seller List and The Indie Best Seller List and I could not have been prouder to have been a part of this project. This book wasn't, and isn't, about me or Design*Sponge or any single person- it's about a community of people embracing their voices, their spaces, their talents and their shared strength together.
This week I met with our publisher to discuss next steps and I'm so excited to say that several big projects will be coming to life next year to keep this movement going. We've talked so much about pivot points and embracing change during the book tour and my gut tells me this book will be a big part of mine. Working hard to provide safe, inspiring and positive places for women to talk, plan, collaborate and dream big is what makes me happiest in life and I'm so excited to see how that evolves over the next few months. In the meantime, thank you to everyone who has supported #inthecompanyofwomen and who has been a part of this project and picked up a copy of the book. Seeing photos of the book in your hands, on your desks, snuggled up in bed, with your children and pets means more to me than I can possibly describe. Please know THESE are the moments that mean the most: real life connections with real people who make our community what it is: a strong, talented and powerful group of women who are just getting started...I can't wait to see what we all do next. xo, grace Music by Lame Drivers at FMA.
