"I love you Lynne=Net" -back in #2012- Srey Net was 6 years old. She told us she wanted to go to her village (where she would be shamed for being a "whore" at 6!!) But, she wanted to go. So we brought her on Christmas Day. Her Grandmother had stopped going into the town to call her once a week and she wanted to know why. Her grandmother told us (in front of Net and the entire village who came out to see the "city people with cars") that Net's mother had found out and demanded why the grandmother was "calling that little whore". That was 2012. Last year, in another remarkable show of strength that I couldn't then fathom, Srey Net informed us (she was age 9) that she wanted to return to her home and forgive her mother!! The video I just posted is of her, home with her mother, thriving at the local school as she excels beyond all the other children with her English studies. Something she was always shy about until I would tickle her into saying the many words she already had learned while in our centers.
