We are in a world of pain and suffering. The issue at Standing Rock is a reflection of the lack of regard we have for ourselves, humanity, nature and its bounty. We are destroying resources, destroying the connection to our fellow humans- both which give life. Add the abuse of (pseudo) power from government officials, the extension of that through police force, and it only magnifies the divide, born out of greed, anger and ignorance. Then there is the election in this country, an example of weakness in our discernment, and just how easy it is for our media to use potential leaders as puppets on a string, feed the negativity as entertainment. I'm hoping there is indeed a way out, a way to turn back time when the act of love and kindness overshadowed hate and fear.
