The Duchess helped celebrate the 175th anniversary of new Swindon today - a town that prospered with the arrival of the GWR works.

HRH unveiled a plaque dedicated to Sir Daniel Gooch, the man who put Swindon on the map by suggesting GWR locate their locomotive works there.

The Duchess then visited Swindon Borough Council to view regeneration plans for the town.
