The turquoise water comes from a very fine "rock flour" generated by the grinding of bedrock as a glacier moves. The lake is set in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, and the narrow winding road leading to it offers views of these distant imposing summits. With little hustle or bustle and lots of beauty, many people prefer the more rugged and remote setting of Moraine Lake to Lake Louise. #travel
