At the moment, our beautiful Grand Canyon is protected by the government, BUT the surrounding area (the Grand Canyons watershed) is 1.7 million acres of desert grasslands, lush coniferous forests, towering cliffs, deeply cut tributary canyons, and numerous springs that flow into the Colorado River and it is under threat of uranium mining and deforestation.
