We had our first hospital visit yesterday for some head stitches . Not bad for an almost 10 year old . One of the harshest things about being a parent is that in " those " moments when you want to cry and melt down , you CAN'T . They must be the kid and you must be the grown up . Silvan thanked the Dr who stitched him up and the nurse who cleaned his wound & I thought " at least my kid has good manners " . And of course grateful we are at home and got me thinking of all the families with chronically sick kids who spend their lives in various medical facilities & don't get to take their kids home or sleep next to them at night . Feeling huge amounts of gratitude this morning ...p.s- this may be the only pic of me wearing a cooking apron , not my usual style !
