I just saw yet another pop music video extolling the virtues of night clubs and bottle service and bling. How is that still a thing? I mean, it's pointless and stupid at the best of times, but when we're facing unprecedented catastrophe on a global scale it seems like an offensive slap in the face to take your time on this planet and indulge in shameless self promotion and the promotion of crass and offensive consumerism. Public figures: you have an audience, DO SOMETHING GOOD WITH IT. Self promotion is a luxury we can't afford.
