I've always had a strong stance for our young generation and the culture that they are growing up in today with social media that puts celebrities on a pedestal. This week I had the best encounter with my niece that I will never forget! // My niece had some friends over for her birthday one night. They asked me if I had to stay pretty and take care of my face because I was "famous" (meaning they saw me on TV). My niece says, "You know what I wrote in my journal auntie Sammy?" I wrote that "I look up to my aunt because she reached her dreams, but mostly I look up to her because she just wants people to love her for who she is." Something so pure and so real to come out of my 11 year old niece was warmth to my soul. // Just because someone is on TV or put in a magazine doesn't mean they are any different than you. They are human and go through the same struggles that you do, it just may be on a different level. #We'reAllHuman
