Thank you to everyone who entered our #idefinepretty contest and will continue to support the movement! To close out this campaign, we are posting an amazing entry from someone who represents the heartbeat of our brand, one of our sales associates, @littlemissfina. "As a sales associate at a clothing store you hear a lot of things from customers. There have been numerous times where I have listened to a mom tell her daughter that she's too fat for dresses entirely. I've heard older sisters tell their younger sibling that her skin tone isn't right for pink clothing.. even though she said pink was her favorite color. I've seen the teary look on girls faces when they ask me to help them with their style. I'd ask for specifics and they'd say, "anything that'll make me look pretty." Now that I'm older, now that I know more about the world, it breaks my heart to see such young girls struggle with their bodies. Young, beautiful girls that are too busy letting someone else choose what's pretty that they forget they have a voice too. Beauty, and the confidence it gives is not something I can personally define for everyone. I know what it means to me, but when it comes down to it "pretty" is something that every girl must realize for herself. I cannot stress enough how important self-love is. At the end of the day you deserve to smile at the girl in the mirror. No one should be allowed to discourage your self-esteem. You are whatever pretty is to you, because there is no set standard definition. Forget their rules and make your own. Define pretty yourself."
