Once upon a time, El Vedado (“forbidden area”) was the area of Havana where only very wealthy pre-revolution people lived, leaving behind mansions by the sea that represented the economic boom of the early 1900’s. Today, it's an area to savor slowly, to soak in the colonial architecture or walk around jazz clubs, restaurants, theaters, and cinemas.
