I write this post in shock, full of emotion, and heartache. My beloved city of New York was rocked on Saturday by a bomb that was intended to do significant damage. Twenty-nine innocent people were physically injured; unlimited numbers have been effected emotionally. Very shortly after the news, I learned that the bomb detonated right outside the Ceci New York studio. Terrorism has literally arrived at my doorstep. Today, I got photos and witnessed the damage. We have been shattered….physically and emotionally. I created Ceci New York as a space to foster creativity, celebrate art and design, and a studio where beauty abounds. We have always wanted to be a respite from the chaotic world we live in and unfortunately on Saturday, hate and ugly filled the streets. The bomb shattered our store front and with it my soul broke into a million pieces. I can't help but be upset yet trying to be strong. Of course, we will repair the damage and our team will continue to be committed to our clients, but just for a minute, we need to process what has happened. I refuse to let this act cloud my lifetime pursuit of producing the perfect balance of beauty and happiness. When all else fails, love will always trump hate. Thank you for your outpouring of support and care for the Ceci New York team.
