Back home from Bonaire and I'm enjoying the little things. Looking out at our garden through the kitchen window. Cuddling the puppies without distractions. Sorting laundry. Drinking tea. Sending a few emails. Writing here and there, for the blog, for my book, for myself.
For the first time in a long time I don't feel a rush to be somewhere else. To do more, to accomplish, to move, to improve. I'm content just sitting here, alone in a quiet house, doing what's right in front of me. No more. No less.
We got a little heartbeat monitor and last night we laid on the couch listening to the sound of little Poppy's heart. It goes dub-dub-dub-dub-dub, like a drum. Much faster than mine. She's really in there. She's really in there! She's really in there and I'm content with that knowing alone. Don't need anything else. Thankful.
