@DanielArsham’s latest exhibition, ‘Circa 2345’ at @galerieperrotin, expands upon his role as a historian of contemporary culture. Recovering abstracted icons of 20th century living, he replaces the crumbling boomboxes, video game controllers, motorcycle helmets and cameras of his previous work with symbols of sports culture - such as baseball caps, varsity jackets, basketballs – sculpted in rich blue calcite crystal and vibrant purple amethyst.
