Johnny Cash died 13 years ago today. Kris Kristofferson gave tribute to the legend in our list of 100 greatest artists. “The main thing about John, though — the thing that everybody could sense — was his integrity, the integrity of his relationship with his music, with his life and with other people,” the singer wrote, recalling when Cash stood by his side in the midst of a wave of criticism in the Eighties. “That’s the kind of guy he always was.
