Brunch this morning @モービー's non-profit @littlepinerestaurant ? I had one of the very best freshly baked croissants ever (...and I lived in Paris) It was vegan, flaky on the outside and soft on the inside with a side of delicious coconut oil maple butter. I frequent this restaurant and many others, and although I'm not totally vegan but I am conscious every day about cutting down on my consumption of animal products. As my friend Dan Matthews of @peta once said to me backstage at my show after I said to him, "Sorry about all the feathers!", he replied "We all do what we can." I've heard criticism of the "vegan before 6" plan that I like to follow. Perhaps if we just make efforts to do what we each can, making choices that are considerate, like cutting down on meat consumption, and supporting businesses like Little Pine who's profits go to animal welfare charities, maybe we can make a difference. I'm not perfect by any means. You probably know that I collect antique taxidermy, I use feathers in my shows and on my costumes and I've been known to chow down on tacos, but I also have my own personal day-to-day disciplines in life. My most valuable travel tool is the Happy Cow app for finding organic and vegan restaurants all over the world, from L.A. to Beijing! Personally, I find I have more energy when I eat vegan in the mornings and afternoons...try it and see how you feel??
