This evening we were the last ones at the pool, and Mayhem was taking full advantage of no line for the slide. When I told her she could have 3 more "slides" and then we'd have to go home, a lovely young lady had just come in for a late evening dip. This young woman watched and giggled as Mayhem squealed her way down each time, having the "MOST FUN EVER!!!". She then approached me and said, "Now I HAVE to go down that slide because your daughter is making it look like so much fun" We watched as our new friend took her turn, and then, as she splashed into the pool, she had the biggest smile. She looked at Mayhem and said "I'm 64 years old and that was the most fun I've had in quite some time. Thank you for inspiring me to do that." We then chatted for a while and swapped stories about moving to the south. Once we were dried off, we said good evening to our new friend. And as we headed to the car, I couldn't help but think about how many times in our lives we forget to "enjoy the slide". But I'm fairly certain life is way too short for that ... let's all remind each other to ALWAYS enjoy the slide :) (ps - I took 3 turns ??)
