Writer/director/editor Albert Magnoli and actress/musician Apollonia Kotero prior to a screening of "Purple Rain" at the Academy last night. Magnoli said Prince wanted Apollonia to be his co-star as soon as he saw her. Magnoli also said that when the studio first read the script they suggested that John Travolta replace Prince in the starring role.
