Back during the Cold War, the left side used to be East Germany and the right side the West, so you are looking at the border. Even the water was divided in half. I am standing on the dam taking this shot, half way down the dam there used to be a concrete wall, dividing Germany into East and West.
So glad we don't have to deal with it anymore.
