I came here as a replacement athlete, completely unsure of what to expect. I tried to not set any expectations, but I couldn't help but be hopeful of an amazing experience. And I got exactly that. I've spent the last 3 weeks meeting the world's greatest athletes and even becoming friends with some of them. I've been able to see the beautiful sights that Rio has to offer. I have also had the honor to step out onto the fencing strip and not only become an Olympian, but also to represent USA on the highest level in the world. Not only that, I became a medalist. When I look back on this experience I am absolutely speechless. All I can say is that I'm so grateful to have had this incredible opportunity.
