It would be hard to find a better 3-D subject - beautifully captured by Ms Foxford here. This image is easy to 'free-view', because the left and right halves are close together. Just let your eyes relax and move your gaze down to your toes while holding your phone in your lap. Watch the two squirrels become 4 - floating around - then allow the two in the middle@to coalesce into one - and THIS is your stere image. Be patient - and your eyes will gradually focus on this 3-D experience ! *

Until recently for viewing 3-D images on the computer, tablet or phone I have used the well established Loreo Lite stereoviewer. For those who are not familiar with it, it is a small foldable viewer made of card, which is reasonably durable and substantial, but it does show wear and tear due to the materials used in its production. The lenses are small plastic prisms housed within the card frame. For its money, it does give a pretty good 3-D result. Yes, I said pretty good, useable, not fantastic... So. How can the small handheld viewer become fantastic ?
