People usually think that male Lions don't hunt or don't do anything, that all is done by the Lionesses. Let me explain something: When a male cub reaches 2 years of age, he is expelled from his pride. You know how social Lions are, and all of a sudden, they are all alone. When they are lucky, they have brothers that are expelled too and together they'll roam this Planet. For the next couple of years it will be up to them to hunt and defend themselves from other Lion Prides until they are Powerful enough to overtake a male Lion and finally acquire their own Pride. Lionesses are the second fastest beings on this Planet (Cheetahs are faster), so male Lions have to rely in their incredible hunting techniques since they are too heavy. And if you add to this incredible quality the fact that they also have to protect their Pride when they have one, then to say that they don't do anything is the biggest misconception ever...
