Since entering her third trimester, Batang’s been inclined to sleep in and occasionally chooses not to participate in training sessions (even when offered peanuts, a favorite treat). These behaviors signal that Batang’s pregnancy is making her a bit uncomfortable. The primate team is responding to her discomfort by providing extra nesting materials, like doubling up on the amount of hay and sheets they normally provide. Batang is taking advantage, too.
