Vancouver B.C. @grousemountain AKA #TheGrind This is a view from the mountain's peak. In the distance are three black specs. Those are huge ships on the ocean. I am so grateful to have booked @luciferonfox because it afforded me the privilege to meet new people, Act, and visit Vancouver. Vancouver happens to be one of my all time favorite destinations. There is lush vegetation, glorious organic produce to eat, OYSTERS, SALMON, breathtaking views, wonderful architecture, the mountains, the lakes with huge pines jutting out of the water's edge, add infinitum. I just breathe better, move slower. The frenetic energy of Los Angeles is sloughed off by the hour. Its easy. One of the things I promised myself recently is to spend more time in nature. Mainly because it is humbling. Nothing makes my seemingly big problems more right sized. The issues melt away, perspective shifts and gratitude sets in. The Grind took 55min to complete. I didn't rush, I stopped to take photos here and there at the beginning. The terrain called for my attention soon enough. It's straight up most of the way. Loose gravel, lunging then tall steps. My breath became heavy, I zeroed in on one thing, My steps. One at a time. One foot in front of the other. A one, two pace. At one point I felt a little emotional, I realized I was completely in my body, I was actually meditating. - Something I struggled with tremendously on my trip to Peru. I remembered my conversation with my new friend Bernard while at his healing center in Huaran. We spoke about my resistance and struggle with being still for seated mediation. I explained that it felt unnatural and created anxiety because I couldn't do it like everyone else. -being still felt like a task, a chore. The antithesis of meditation's purpose. Bernard was gentle with me and asked me to try active meditation. "Try cooking, brushing your teeth, brushing your hair methodically and mindfully... It will come." He understood because he was like me, High energy! So during this walk among the trees I had this break through... I was meditating! It was just a perfect realization in a beautiful location. I am still feeling elevated by it. ❤
