The ban of Circus Animals in Mexico was a milestone in the fight for animal rights in our country.

It changed, for the better, the hellish reality of thousands of enslaved animals, who existed in awful conditions: Very small spaces, forced to perform against their nature, locked up for days on end, mutilated (declawed, their fangs extracted). But all this ended and not only did animals benefit, but also the circuses that knew how to reinvent themselves, like Atayde and Solary, which now have only humans performing in them.

What happened to the animals that used to live in circuses?

The internet has divulged a lot of information on the subject, most of it false, some declarations given to a newspaper where she stated that 80% of the animals that lived in circuses are now dead, obviously a lie.
The reality is completely different: It was Animal Heroes that through its very hard work achieved the Circus Animal Ban. Together with various experts, we relocated hundreds of ex-circus animals. We know now that over 50% of them have had their lives improved exponentially.

SEMARNAT recognized in a press conference, the existence of 1046 animals: 69 were National Property, 54 had been confiscated, 136 secured, 15 surrendered by Solary Circus (To BJWT), 20 abandoned in Yucatan by Solei Circus and 5 more were given up voluntarily by Fantasy Circus to SEMARNAT. That adds up to 298 animals not in circuses anymore, plus the 110 circus animals in the hands of Black Jaguar-White Tiger. 94 acquired by the Tezayuca Park and 17 by Bioparque Pachuca, for a total of 519 alive animals, not counting the ones gotten by other zoos, and those still in circuses who decided to keep and feed them.
