Whether producers played him the song, expressed the concept or it had just been a coincidence, my mom felt robbed. It was one of her biggest heartbreaks to know that she had it in her to be "successful" in music but was not acknowledged for lack of connections, money and or her "image". Since then R. Kelly has actually been a mentor of mine, it was such an interesting thing to experience because I never even told him the "history" my family has with him lol. My mom may have left that behind, but the gag is, the kids deserves to hear what I grew up with. She has always been a star in my eyes for she has touched me and changed me FOREVER!!
